Our full-day trip from Edinburgh covers roughly 361 miles, providing plenty of  time to get to know Scotland’s fascinating treasures and diverse history in detail.

After departure, our route soon takes us out of the hustle and bustle of the city. An hour’s drive will take us to our first stop, Doune Castle. This 13th-century fortress, which has served as the location for several films (e.g. Outlander, Monty Python), has witnessed a number of historic events over the centuries. Among others, Mary, Queen of Scots, and Bonny Prince Charley visited the castle in the past.

Our first refreshment stop, Kilmahog, is only 15 minutes away from Doune. Kilmahog lies at the foot of the Highlands in a picturesque setting, so if the weather is good, we will have the opportunity to take some great pictures.

Refreshed, we set out on the road and pass through Loch Lomond National Park to arrive to Glencoe. The ensemble of peaks rising here, named Three Sisters, creates an indescribable atmosphere in the valley that pervades all visitors.

With a few scheduled stops for photography, we arrive shortly after Glencoe to the town of Spean Bridge, where we have the chance to spend a relaxed lunchtime.

After the rest stop, we continue our journey to the long-awaited Loch Ness, all the way to Clansman Harbor, where we will have the opportunity to take a cruise on the lake providing a long- lasting experience.

After a thorough scan of the lake in search of Nessie, we will pass through the town of Inverness and turn south towards Edinburgh. We will travel through the beautiful Cairngorms National Park, which gives a completely different view compared to what we have experienced before.

Our last rest stop will take place in the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry. After the refreshment, we will head back to the capital and end our tour between 8 and 9 p.m.

Mysterious Places. Bloody Battles. Mythical Creatures.
