In our trip to the south of Scotland, we put a little bit of everything that makes Scotland unique and unforgettable.

Leaving the crowded city streets behind us, the view almost immediately radiates a calm, rural atmosphere as we head towards the Scottish borders.

The first stop of the day will be the Glenkinchie whiskey distillery, which tells us two hundred years of history. During the visit to the factory, we will be provided with a lot of information from the characteristics of the grain used to the barrels used for maturation. The visit, of course, will end with nothing more than tasting the well-deserved juice.

Calling for a well-founded mood in the distillery, we continue our journey south. After some driving, we reach the formerly favourite spot of the deservedly famous Sir Walter Scott, the Scott‘s View. The poet visited here countless times in his life to draw peace and inspiration from the wonderful sight unfolding before him.

Just a few minutes away is the 200-year-old statue of the freedom fighter William Wallace, who proudly keeps his eye on the Scottish countryside.

After soaking up some history, we continue to arrive in Melrose, which will serve as our lunch stop throughout the day. Meanwhile, we visit the beautiful and ruined Melrose Abbey, founded by Cistercians in the 12th century and which, according to legend, happens to be the resting place of the heart of Robert the Bruce.

After a pleasant lunch, we head on to the 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel, best known for Dan Brown’s book, The Da Vinci Code. Here you will have the opportunity to look around the chapel and explore legends and mystics, as well as study the incredible building and stone carvings.

Finally, we head back to the capital, where we will finish our tour around 4:30 in the afternoon.
